The Codewerx hot side boost pipe connects the turbo to the intercooler. It has a larger OD than the restrictive stock pipe and is made with high grade T6061 Aluminum for robustness.
It improves throttle response and eliminates the problem with the stock pipes bursting. It is recommended to replace the stock pipe as the plastic pipes are suffering from material fatigue.
Codewerx’ charge and boost pipes don’t brake so easily! A blown charge pipe risks debris being sucked into the engine and can also result in a drive train fault - reduced engine power.
We encountered a problem the other day, the customer was experiencing a sudden loss in power in 1st gear, then surging forward and the engine light also popped up. As we opened up the bonnet, first thing we could see was that the boost pipe cracked. We replaced it with the Codewerx boost pipe and the problem was solved. The customer left the workshop within 2 hours. This is one of the many cracked charge / boost pipe cases we have had.
The stock boost pipe is prone to boost leaks and its convoluted design results in ripples of boost, resulting in a jugular flow. Codewerx’ boost pipes provide a tighter fit, higher & smoother flow. Using a better charge pipe increased air flow of the turbo, reduces turbo-lag and increases the throttle response.
